The latest?

It’s obviously been a while. One of my classmates was kind of enough to acknowledge this little blog space as a repository for my processes and ideas. I suppose it’d be a more useful resource if I bothered to update it more often. On that note, what have I figured out and tried in the studio and in life that’s useful/interesting?

I am powerful when my feet are warm.

Salsa in a jar is nice as a unique pasta sauce substitute. The pasta salad seasoning from McCormick mixed on top is great with it.

Heavy body acrylics make a lot of sense for the kinds of paintings I make.

Alcohol thrown on ink is pretty cool.

Dancing while making work is actually a wonderful way to keep the momentum going.

Mid-rise pants are the most flattering for my figure. My belief that high-waisted were the way to go were false and unfounded.

Ivory colored 1 Shot enamel might be the replacement canvas color I need.

For whatever reason a crystal in my water makes me want to have a good day.

Golden pastel ground on top of clear gesso is a good surface. Need to make more clear gesso since I’m out of the Liquitex.

It really is okay to be loose with the materials and let them do what they like.

I still need to be more patient with acrylic before I hop into using oils. Still learning that lesson even though thesis is around the corner.

What else? The projector cart in my studio is height adjustable and I had no idea until this month. But now I know.

Take more Ichiban to the studio for meals.

Brr, brr.
